Ballyboy Airfield Nominated for Aviation Industry Award 2019

June 2019 - Ballyboy Airfield was nominated in the Aviation Industry Awards. The Awards recognise excellence in the Irish and international aviation industry. Nominees represent airlines, airports, aviation suppliers and other players in the industry who have excelled in helping to grow and serve the aviation sector.

Ballyboy Airfield has been nominated in the category 'General and Sport Aviation'. The airfield was nominated in light of its active role serving general aviation in Ireland and beyond. The annual Ballyboy Airfield Fly-In and Family Fun Day was also a factor in its nomination - the annual charity event for Down Syndrome Ireland is open to aviators and the local community and has raised over €50,000 to date.  The nomination reflects the position Ballyboy holds within general aviation in Ireland and the efforts of all volunteers in the annual Down Syndrome charity event.

The Aviation Industry Awards 2019 ceremony took place on Friday, 12 July 2019 at the Clayton Hotel Burlington Road, Dublin, with Ballyboy being a runner-up in the category.  Other nominees on the night include Aer Lingus, Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport, Norwegian Air International, Simtech Aviation, George Best Belfast City Airport and City of Derry Airport.
